It’s summertime and the livin’ is easy!
I hope you all have some fun trips planned in your motorhomes, fifth wheels or whatever type of RV you own.
If you find yourself in Fort Worth this summer, I’ve found some fun, family friendly events to enjoy.
The National Cutting Horse Association’s (NCHA) Summer Cutting Spectacular is going to be July 8 through July 28 at Will Rogers Memorial Center. If you have never seen the magic of these cutting horses, it is well worth the trip!
The NCHA promotes and celebrates the cutting horse, whose origin on Western ranches allows us to support ranching and its western heritage. By establishing rules for the conduct of cutting horse shows, NCHA strives to give cutters a level playing field and a progressive class structure, which accommodates everyone from the beginner to the advanced competitor.
The 23rd Annual Yellow Rose Classic Car Show takes place on August 11-12, 2012. The North Texas Mustang Club hosts the largest all Ford indoor show in the southwest. Over 200 vintage, performance, and classic cars and trucks. This event is held at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Ft. Worth, Texas.
The Yellow Rose Classic is the North Texas Mustang Club’s answer to the demand for a quality indoor show-featuring classic, antique, and collectible Ford automobiles and trucks. This annual event began in 1990 with 50,000 square feet of display space at the Amon G. Carter, Jr. Exhibit Hall. Demand exceeded space and this show grew to 100,000 square feet of space in 1992. Show participants include individuals, Ford enthusiast car clubs, and both local and nationally known vendors.
The Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus is in Fort Worth from August 15 through the 19th at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Don’t miss the circus entertainment from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey where megawatts of thrills explode off of the arena floor with breathtaking dare-devilry, superhuman stunts and never-before-seen performances that energize Children of All Ages!
The circus is one of those don’t miss events, especially if you have small children or grand children. Also, don’t miss the Parade of Elephants that goes up Main Street. That is usually on the day before the first circus show, which would be August 14. Watch the local paper for more information.
